As a starting point we looked simply at the definition and synonyms of the word construct and began to form ideas from that.
Our groups' brainstorm.
Ultimately we came to the idea to take quite a literal approach to the word and create a film around building, constructing and making something. And soon began producing details on what materials we could use, how we would it and perhaps, most importantly, what exactly we would film. As a final idea we chose to film our group from selected angles, constructing something ambious, into the final shot of the film where we would reveal that we can produced the actual word CONSTRUCT out of our chosen materials.
DAY TWO
Our second day of the week was used to finalised our ideas and surprisingly, being filming. Ultimately we chose between a range of materials to construct boxes using card and paper, etc.
Set out as a group around a table, we used the time it took us to build these boxes as useful filming material, and did an overall time-lapse of our work - which we chose to use as the opening of our film.
DAY THREE
The morning of our final day was more filming and eventual editing for the showing of our completed film and crit.
In conclusion, I am very pleased with the final cut of our groups work and even though we took a very literal approach to our work, I feel we were very creative and insightful about how we went about creating and producing it.
