DAY ONE
Our week began with a day trip to Brighton, to see an exhibition, and gather some imagery that may be useful to our project or help to provoke some ideas and experiments. Below are some of my images from the Brighton trip and exhibition.
PROJECT CONCLUSION
After some very interesting and creative life drawing classes, we then began work on out final piece in response to the text of 'Metamorphosis'.
For my piece I looked at the initial, hidden transformation in the text form human to bug, that the protagonist, Gregor Samsa struggles through. I wanted my piece to depict the pain and difficulty that is not explicitly shown in the text but is still very prominent.
Conclusively, I enjoyed the Metamorphosis project very much. I think it was a very interesting and exciting week, and certainly helped me to see the different ways in which illustration can be transformed. Additionally, I think I managed to produce a very successful piece for this project which I am vastly pleased with.
