FMP: Week One

FIRST WEEK AND FIRST IDEAS

My FMP began with research into zines and zine making. My initial idea was to produce a zine-like book that documented personal thoughts, ideas and feelings in an almost abstract form - Essentially, I was primarily planning to create a diary, but produce it in a different and more interesting format.
A strong example of what I initially am aiming to produce is pictured below - My first ideas are to include text and imagery - again like that of a childhood diary, but obviously, with more maturity and artistic integrity. I hoping that the final outcome will be relate-able and an interactive and intriguing product.

WEEK ONE

I can honestly say that the beginnings of my FMP were fairly slow starting. Though I knew what I needed and wanted to research, had an idea of the artists' I was planning on looking at and including within my sketchbook work; I was still slow at getting into such work. I would say that towards the end of the week, rather than the beginning of it, is when my work really began and I started strong developmental research and artwork.

I began artist research in places such as NoBrow Press, and soon began planning a visit to their shop in Shoreditch, where I wanted to browse their physical works and look for further artists to research and discover. Additionally, I began opening research into artists that had primarily sprung to mind when my project first began. Artists who websites, or blog I visited frequently when I needed generally inspiration for the beginnings of my FMP were actually looking into general art styles and concepts. But I soon began looking into particular artists that focused more into illustration and specifically any work of comic styles.
