3D Design
Our third week at Ravensbourne was the 3DD week. Going into the week, I was not entirely sure what to expect, and was unsure how well I do with the tasks we were assigned and overall whether or not I would enjoy it, as 3DD has never been a subject I've done thoroughly or much enjoyed.
Our first day became with the task of experimental drawings. We were told to draw direction-less shapes or lines primarily, and from that draw a made-up product. Though looking in the task seem like a simple warm-up, or something completely random, I feel ultimately it was successful in teaching me to be more adventurous and much less technical with my experimental drawings; especially when using it to come up with an idea. We input these skills into our next tasks throughout the day and the rest of the week.
Bridges
Our first project was a group effort to create a large sized bridge out of cardboard, rubber bands, duct tape and limited bamboo sticks, to form a bridge that would hold itself up from the ground and ultimately carry across a remote controlled car.
The beginnings of our bridge. We decided to form two 'stands' out of bamboo that the bridge itself would rest upon.
Our completed bridge!
All of the completed bridges - Surprisingly, the were all (more or less) successful in getting the remote controlled car across.
